Hande Gür graduated from Ankara University Faculty of Law in 2012. She continued her postgraduate education at Marmara University Institute of Social Sciences, Department of Public Law. She completed her master's degree with her thesis titled  "The 'Unwilling or Unable' Doctrine of Self-defense against Non-state Actors" and her Ph.D. thesis titled  "Protection of Civilians in United Nations Peacekeeping Operations." During her doctoral studies, she visited the University of Cologne, Germany, to conduct her studies. Between 2014-2023, she worked as a research assistant at Marmara University Faculty of Law, Department of International Law. Dr. Gür's work focuses on international humanitarian law and the use of force in international law.
