Biography

Dr. Uğurlar's current research focuses on two closely interconnected areas: self and social decision-making. Part of her work examines how the self and others are cognitively represented and how these representations influence decision-making processes. Another line of research explores the determinants and consequences of interpersonal and intergroup trust and cooperation. In this context, her studies investigate the factors shaping interpersonal cooperation and trust decisions, as well as the behavioral consequences of being trusted or distrusted. Dr. Uğurlar conducted her doctoral research at Middle East Technical University and the Social Cognition Center Cologne (University of Cologne) before working as a postdoctoral researcher at the University of Cologne. Her research has been supported by various research and mobility grants from the Center for Social and Economic Behavior (University of Cologne) and TÜBİTAK.
