The Faculty of Law and Administration at the University of Szczecin is pleased to invite you to our upcoming Winter School: Human Rights and Legal English - How to read the rulings of international courts, scheduled for February 18-20, 2025. This comprehensive online program will be conducted entirely in English and will feature expert lectures and interactive workshops led by distinguished faculty members and special guests.

ABOUT THE WINTER SCHOOL

This Winter School is designed specifically for law students, legal practitioners, and professionals who wish to deepen their understanding of human rights through the lens of international court rulings. The agenda focuses on developing essential skills in reading, analyzing, and interpreting decisions from key international courts such as the European Court of Human Rights (ECHR) and the Court of Justice of the European Union (CJEU).

KEY TOPICS COVERED

• Introduction to Legal English: Mastering the language of international legal documents.
• Understanding the Structure of International Court Rulings: Decoding the format and terminology used in judgments.
• Analyzing Case Law: Techniques for dissecting landmark cases from the ECHR and CJEU.
• Practical Workshops: Hands-on sessions where participants will engage with real case studies and draft their own legal analyses.
